1964½ Coupe (Sold)

Details:
It’s gotta go... we moved to Aus a couple of years ago now and it looks like it’s going to be too much drama to bring my beautiful 64 ½ Coupe across. It was only finished a few months before we decided to head off on an adventure, and now we’re stuck here so my baby has to go.

This car has had a full ground up rebuild, sand blasted the bare shell and started from there. All new trim, paint, chrome, motor and brakes, drives like a new car. The motor is a sweet running 289 Boss (Professionally built) with a Falcon 5 speed manual with a nice soft hydraulic release. The brakes have been upgraded to BA Falcon discs actuated by a dual diaphragm booster, once again nice light pedal here. I also installed a bump steer correction kit as part of the “Must drive nice” approach, and it does!

So check out the pictures (I have more) and feel free to ask any questions, I know every bolt on this car.

1967 Ford Mustang Coupe V8 (Sold)

Details: 45000 miles (72500 km),  Cardinal Red, 2 Door, Coupe, Engine: V8, 289ci (4736cc), Automatic,  Alarm, Stereo CD Player, Alloy Wheels, Power Steering, Personalised Plate

For sale: one damn straight, very shiny, well maintained, much loved Mustang notchback. Trophy winner in class at Auckland Mustang Owners Club events and national conventions.

As far as I can tell, the car is 45,000 miles since new. Two owners in USA, including the owner who imported it into NZ in 1989 and I purchased in 2004.

Previous owner did the first professional restoration in 1993/94. Engine was originally a 289ci C-Code V8 then rebuilt in 1994 to the A-code specifications with aftermarket 650 4-barrel Holley carb.

In 2005/06, she got her second full panel work and bare metal respray, which cost me a fortune. Panel work was done by Greg Ross at Classique in Penrose. Bare metal respray in Cardinal Red done by Classic Auto Body Panel & Paint in Pukekohe. Discovered the original colour was metallic Lime Gold.

Engine bay is tidy but not detailed. The engine and transmission are sound with a few useful modifications including Pertronixs electronic ignition, transmission cooling modification, MSD ignition.

Has 14” Cragar SS wheels with 4 near new 215 x 65 tyres. Disc brakes at front and drums at rear. New brake booster, rear brakes and hand brake. New front and rear suspension. Have replaced most of the interior and added stereo with front/rear speakers.

Reluctant sale due to lifestyle change. Vehicle is hardly driven – last year it was driven less than 300 miles. Usual story - spent more than it is worth, not using it like I should and bills to pay. Daughter will miss it the most when sold.

1969 428 R code Cobra Jet  (Sold)

Details: Genuine 1969, 428 Ram Air R code Cobra Jet. Fully restored, show condition. This is an exception condition Cobra Jet, covered only 53,000 miles from new. Marti report available. Imported in partially restored condition in 2007, it has undergone extensive additional work to get it into show condition. Restoration has included an extensive engine rebuild and engine bay restoration. Extras not fitted at factory include period correct AM/FM 4 channel radio, 8 inch wide wheels, rear window louvers, and MSD ignition system. The original 3.5 diff head has been removed and replaced with 3.0 ratio head. (Quieter cruising and better fuel consumption). The original diff in its nodular iron housing comes with the car. Its is fully complied, registered and will be fitted with a new WOF when sold. This car runs well and is in drive anywhere no problems condition. I have a full restoration and maintenance history on this car with heaps of photos. I've owned three 69/70 Mustangs over the past 12 years including a Boss 429. This Cobra Jet is best driving of all of them. Once you have owned and driven a big block Cobra Jet and experienced the exceptional level of performance they offer, you never want to go back to a regular 351. (I specifically chose an automatic transmission model over a 4 speed having driven both extensively. The top loaders are quite notchy and the clutches can be heavy. The auto's by comparison are way nicer to drive, just as fast, and the C6 transmissions well known for being bullet completely proof.) I'm dead reluctant to sell after all the work and money ($120,000+) I have invested in the car, but unfortunately the start-up costs of a new business venture have finally forced my hand.
