1966 GT Hardtop
(Withdrawn)

Details:
1966 GT Mustang Hardtop
Genuine matching numbers 66 GT Mustang. This car was imported in 2005 by
myself through Rex Kelland in America. This is a un-restored original car ,
after inspection you will very easily realise that it has only done 70875
mls (as shown on speedometre )and it is a genuine Gt car. People would know
that their a lot of GT Clones on the market but there are some manufacturing
features which cars are genuine GT’S. This car has all the components and
build features that indicate it is genuine GT - e.g. , One photo I have
included shows the original red paint on front suspension coils indicating
high performance springs. It has fable plates in the rear subframe each side
for the exhaust hangers and a Gt steering box ratio and has punched holes
for the front for the fog lamp wiring on the radiator apron and the Fog lamp
switch on the dash. The fog lamp dash switch also activates rear tail lamps,
which is a Gt design . It also has a Kelsey Hayes proportioning valve. I
have done extensive work on this car to make it reliable and safe and still
retain its originality. If I have replaced any parts I have keep all
original components .The complete brake system has been renewed and a Shelby
2 pot brake cylinder, fitted for safety, 4 core radiator and shroud and
Summit high flow water pump and 5 blade fan fitted – no over heating
problems . I have done extensive repainting and chroming of certain
components. The motor is original and runs really well and the gearbox and
diff works smoothly . It comes with a original set of rims and wire wheel
covers and I have also had seat covers made up to protect the upholstery and
make them more comfortable , one photo has them removed the other with them
on. Also shown in the boot photo is the original spare tire sold with the
car when it was new –they nick named them the Coca Cola tire ,I have another
spare and store this one. The interior is completely original and is in
excellent condition. The car has been fully rust proofed with Protective
Rust Inhibiting Oil.
I have done heaps of work on this car ,too much to mention on this
advertisement, I have just been to the National Mustang show in Wellington
with this car from Whangarei with no problems. The numbered tags for the
components are – Gearbox- HEH BW ,Motor –(number under starter motor cast
into engine block) – C6AE 6015 C 6AE, Number on engine tag inlet manifold –
289 C66 10 6A 250-3, Steering Box –HCC AW Diff -WCZ-F, Carburator.-06ZF-A.

1967 COUPE
(Sold)

My Dad and I bought this car together in 1994
from the original owner in Manitoba, Canada. I’ve got the owner’s manual,
build sheet, owners maintenance card, and shop manuals.
On restoration in 1994 we replaced all the quarter panels and refinished the
exterior in Clearwater Aqua with clear coat. With a growing family and new
priorities, it’s time to move the Mustang on to another appreciative owner
for the next 20 years. Will be missed, and Dad’s going to disown me.

Factory floor console
Factory power disk brakes
Clearwater Aqua exterior
Aqua two-tone interior
Red Devil Mufflers on dual exhaust

Hypereutectic Pistons (Lightweight Aluminium Alloy)
Edelbrock Performer Cam for a bit more grunt
Factory Autolite 2V carb in flawless working order
All refinished in Ford blue
– All broken in nicely now with about 10000km on it and it sings like a good
289 should. Not a race car, but the internals are there if you want to hot
it up.
MAJOR REFURB 5 years ago to bring it up to NZ import specifications saw the
following completed:
New floors
New turquoise carpet
New windscreen
Many new brake and suspension components
New fuel tank
New coil
Pertronix Ignition
Water pump
Rear bumper
Panasonic speakers in rear deck
Sony cassette head unit in the console - straight outta high school.
138,000miles. It’s been a daily driver, no garage queen.
ISSUES
It’s a 47 year old Mustang so don’t be fooled they’ve all got few issues,
the price is reflects the following:
– Heater Core has split, so I’ve decommissioned and rerouted all hoses to
bypass the heater. Heater core is purchased and comes with the car but is
still in the box. Air Con was all working (and on R134a) when I
decommissioned.
– Rust, a few spots slowly developing on the front bottom corners of both
doors, and at the join of the sills visible on one side. You’re welcome to
come and have a good look.
