1986 GTHO (Withdrawn by NZMustang- No contact)

 

Details:  1986 Mustang GTHO. The engine has around 10,000 miles since a rebuild. Edelbrock Aluminium heads with 2.02 valves, MAC headers, off-road H-Pipe and flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers and tailpipes. Sounds amazing and will make the biggest chevy fan smile.  Hurst shifted T5 gearbox , 8.8” LSD with 4.10 gears, clutch feels like its still got a lot of meat in it.  Converted to 5 lug wheels and 17” wheels from a Mach 1 mustang which really suit the car and look fantastic. Tyres are P245/45/17’s  with 50% front and 90% rear. With this car I’ve been the twice running winner of the Taranaki Mustang Club, Grass Kana. I’m the first NZ owner and I’ve replaced several suspension bushings and the front brake lines and put brand new seat belts in the front. The car is rust free and has power windows and power steering. The nose and hood have been upgraded to a 1988 mustang but doesn’t line up with the bottom of the guards, never bothered me or the previous owner, I don’t think it would take much to line it up properly though. The rear wing is off a 1993 GT. The carpet in the boot is a little tatty and stained. The interior carpet could do with a shampoo and the dash has a dash mat on it. Headliner isn’t perfect either. The driver and passenger seats have been replaced with seats from a 1995 mustang, they are extremely nice cloth charcoal seats, and the drivers seat is electric. Car has a Sony CD player and is alarmed with a 4 star rated, professionally installed, mongoose alarm system, with keyless entry, immobiliser etc and is even nice enough to wail at me every-time I leave the lights on…oops. Paint is grabber blue & black, is essentially a clone of the 2004 mach-1 mustang. The paint is not show condition but still turns a lot of heads. The underside of the hood hasn’t been painted to match. I took the Air-conditioning out because it had lost its charge and I didn’t require it. This car is extremely quick but also makes a fantastic cruiser and is easy to drive around town. Being fuel-injected makes it extremely economical, people I’ve talked to with other mustangs can’t believe the economy I get out of it. I absolutely love this car and am really going to regret selling it but its time to move on.

1966 Mustang Coupe (Sold)

Details: This is not a restoration. This car has had one (1) family owner for 22 years - originally bought for the son when he was just 8 years of age. It has been well-kept, garaged and everything is original except for the wheels. All electrical's work perfectly. Air-conditioning is cool. Floor pans are clean. Just minor rust at the left-hand side of the back compartment but nothing major. A little bit of TLC will bring back its glory - more than it is now. This is a 289 2V and drives beautifully. All documents are still intact.

1985 GT. (Sold)

Details: This is the last of the 4 barrel carburettors! Original G-T, T-tops, 5 speed, 5.0 - HO. I just took my little baby on a 200 mile drive, and I will miss it (have owned about 15 years). Excellent tires, starts and runs fine. High mileage (123,663 miles), and never had the engine apart. It is showing signs of it's age, as these 302's will do. I think it needs valve guides, as the plugs foul, so I put extenders on them. No problem now. The mufflers have been removed and straight pipes welded in their place, but, as you may know, these never were REAL dual exhaust. It sounds real good, and retains the original slant cut stainless tips. The catalytic converter is blanked off. The body is basically straight. It does need a new hood decal, and I have a new one in the Ford parts box to go with it. I will email you pictures of the rust and dents (small and minor, this car drives nice and looks nice until one looks real close). For instance the rust bubbles at the bottom of the door in the close-up photo. It is going to need a new clutch in the near future. I would call this a real good, driveable restoration project.

Paint work is in pristine condition, white leather interior is just like new. I have a had a new soft top fitted, new CD head unit and installed new clear polycarbonate head lights ( original glass ones go with car to as well as factory head unit).  With the vehicle comes a brand new lowering kit, not yet fitted. Its sitting on 18 inch wheels are in mint condition, good rubber. Details: This is a real GT! Not a car we think is a GT!!! All factory 68 GT extras - 302 J code V8 with 4 barrel, Automatic transmission, Power steering, Power disk brakes, 5x 12 slots with GT centre caps, Twin exhaust system with GT tips, correct badging and striping. Also has factory air conditioning and tachometer. This is a good dry Californian car, no rust, great floors. Needs RH fender inner fender apron replaced due to poor repair. Runs and drives well. Original black interior that is in reasonable condition. Has new factory correct GT fog lamps. Wiring is all there from factory installation. Have ordered a Marti report, waiting for its arrival. Regardless this is s factory optioned car, not a Mickey Mouse cobble together.
