Club Run Sunday 28th April 2002.

Event report and photos by Bart

Everyone met 1.30 pm at Farm Services in Cameron Road Tauranga, and by the time we reached our final destination at the Pitch and Put in Papamoa there were just over 40 people. The short run with the cars saw Peter Wooley pick up the dipstick award. 2 x batteries both "dead as", and the car of course wouldn't start in front of 14 other Mustangs!

A quick driving lesson (in golf) sorted the men out from the girls. There were more gin and whisky shots from the male sector. Then on to the main event. Eight hole mini golf, (1 hole out due too repairs!). They were all pretty well behaved except for one who was caught by our sheriff (young Cameron) doing a line dance on one of the greens.

Prize giving was entertaining to say the least, and the meal, a nice big juicy steak and all the salad you could eat was just superb. All in all it was a great afternoon's entertainment and being our first social outing as a club, it was a total hoot!

St Patrick's Day Meeting 17 March 2002

What a great day we had on Saint Patrickís Day. It was a good turn out as far as new clubs go. For those that didnít make it we had a total of eight cars including one family wagon, Great effort. The club also voted in Bart as president and and Kelvin as treasurer.

All Ford Day, Mt Maunganui, 3 March 2002.

Event report and photos by Grant Bradley

The day was hosted by the Ford Muscle Car club of Tauranga and a couple hundred of fords from early 19th century right up to the latest FTR Falcon were on display in brilliant fine conditions. There was a large number of spectators throughout the day enjoying the cars and atmosphere. Entrants traveled from the central and upper North Island.

There were a good number of Mustangs on display and of notable mention were the 7 Boss Mustangs we managed to get together. They consisted of 5 x 1970 Boss 302  and 2 x 1971 Boss 351. This is probably the largest gathering of Boss Mustangs in New Zealand at any one time and we may have even beat the Aussies on this one too, for having the largest gathering of Boss's outside of the States. This is hard to verify but we can probably claim it until they have the Perth convention anyway!
